Lise Vaugeois moved to Thunder Bay in 1991 to take up a position with the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra - a position she gave up in 2006 in order to complete a PhD in Education at the University of Toronto. Since 2013, she has been an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Education at Lakehead University, teaching both undergraduate and graduate students. In addition, she is on the Board of Directors of the Thunder Bay & District Injured Workers Support Group, is a member of the executive of the ONDP’s Women’s Committee, the director of a men’s chorus, and a small business owner. A long-time member of the NDP, Vaugeois has been on the riding association executive for many years and has been engaged with Indigenous, women’s, anti-racist and anti-poverty movements for over 40 years. Lise is the Official Opposition Critic for Seniors, Persons Living with Disabilities and Accessibility, and WSIB and Injured Workers.
