TORONTO – In just the past 60 days, the Ontario NDP raised over $825,000 from 15,640 contributions, showcasing the growing trust Ontarians are placing in Marit Stiles and the NDP to replace Doug Ford’s Conservatives after six years of schemes and scandals.
The Ontario NDP’s strong grassroots support, with an average contribution of $52, underscores growing confidence in Marit Stiles’ positive vision for the province and her campaign for a government that will build homes, hire doctors, fix schools, and make life more affordable.
“This isn’t just about numbers. It’s about people—thousands of Ontarians stepping up because they believe we can build a province where everyone has a chance to thrive,” said Ontario NDP Provincial Director Kevin Beaulieu. “This grassroots strength is what sets our movement apart—it’s driven by everyday Ontarians who are ready for a change.”
The Ontario NDP’s latest Opposition Day motion to end cash-for-access in government came on the heels of big-ticket fundraisers planned by the leaders of both the Conservative and Liberal parties, signaling a growing trend to rely on a small network of political donors. In contrast, the Ontario NDP is backed by a record number of grassroots supporters, exceeding the combined total of donors to the Conservative and Liberal parties.
“This is a movement fueled by people—parents, workers, and retirees—who are tired of being left behind,” said Marit Stiles, Leader of the Ontario NDP. “They’re standing up and saying it’s time for a government that works as hard as they do, and they know they can count on the NDP to deliver just that.”
The past two months are part of an ongoing streak of fundraising success for the Ontario NDP. Since Marit Stiles began her campaign to defeat Doug Ford in the next election, the party has raised a total of $8 million—an unprecedented achievement for an Official Opposition in Ontario. This momentum demonstrates that the Ontario NDP has the grassroots energy and financial strength needed to challenge Doug Ford’s Conservatives.
“Beating Doug Ford will take more than just determination—it will take the resources to go toe-to-toe with a campaign backed by wealthy elites,” Beaulieu added. “Our grassroots support is building a campaign strong enough to stand up to Ford’s millions. Every contribution, no matter the size, is a step toward building the change Ontarians are ready for.”
