Ontario NDP’s Shailer advocates for rural voices at Watford by-election debate

WATFORD – Kathryn Shailer, NDP candidate for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, highlighted the failure of the Ford Conservative to support rural Ontario during the all-candidate meeting organized by the Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario in Watford last night.

“Doug Ford has offered nothing to our community but school and hospital closures,” said Shailer. “At Queen’s Park, I will make it a priority to restore the public services and funding that small towns rely on. Doug Ford may be ignoring the voices of farmers – but the Ontario NDP and I never will”.

The Watford debate was the second all-candidate meeting during the by-election. Shailer is set to participate in two more this week – one in Strathroy (April 24) and one in Dresden (April 27).
